The Mayor’s Court is imperative to an efficient Ohio court system, as it provides the ability to prevent minor offenses from reaching courts with significant caseloads. Waynesville Mayor’s Court is one of seven operating in Warren County and one of over 300 throughout the State of Ohio. Mayor’s Courts have the authority to hear cases involving traffic and criminal offenses in alleged violation of local ordinances and state traffic laws.

Court personnel include:

Magistrate - Wm. Robert Kaufman - Mr. Kaufman began his service as magistrate for the Village of Waynesville Mayor’s Court January 2020. Mr. Kaufman has 15 years of experience as a mayor’s court magistrate and is also the magistrate at Warren County Court.

Prosecutor - Chase Kirby

Clerk of Courts - Ashley S. Richardson, was hired September 2017. She graduated from college with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Ashley is an active member of the Ohio Association of Mayor's Court Clerks as well as an active member of the Southwest Ohio Association of Mayor's Court Clerks. She has two kids (one son and one daughter). When she is not busy with her kids, she enjoys reading, traveling, shopping, hiking, and playing with her three dogs.

Bailiff - Officer Kevin Fickert graduated from the Greene County Police Academy and joined the Waynesville Police Department in 2012 following his 8 years as a Military Police Officer with the Army's 324th MP Co. His hobbies include firearms, motorcycle riding and spending time with his family. He received the Officer of the Year Award for 2020.

All staff have completed training necessary to maintain compliance with state requirements.

The State of Ohio requires you maintain insurance on the vehicle you are driving. If you did not provide proof of insurance at the time of your traffic offense, you must bring it with you to your court appearance or mail a copy with your payment. It must be valid for the date of your offense. All traffic convictions are reported to the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

If you do not respond or appear for your case in court, a bench warrant and/or license forfeiture may be issued. The Mayor's Court schedule can be found here.

Payment of fines is accepted at the Clerk of Courts office in the Village of Waynesville Municipal Building. We accept cash, check, money order, and credit/debit card payments (credit/debit cards are subject to a 3.5% convenience fee). We also accept credit/debit card payments over the phone.

If you wish to pay your fines through our online payment system, go to https://www.ohioticketpayments.com. Also, for your convenience, you may drop your payment off in the night drop box located in front of the building. If you choose this option, make sure your payment is in a sealed envelope with your name on it and addressed to Waynesville Mayor’s Court.

You may also mail your payment; we just don’t suggest you mail cash. Payments must be received by the court date on the bottom of your citation. If not, you MUST appear in court. We are not responsible for any delay in mail service.
